John Wayne McCubbins age 70 of Munfordville passed away Thursday, June 5th at Baptist Health Hardin. He retired as service manager from Ben & Elmer in Glasgow after working there for 25 years.
John was known for his love of music. He sang bass and played the bass guitar with the Edmonton Quartet for 51 years. He was a member of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church where he also served as deacon.
John was preceded by his parents Theodore & Myrtle Gonterman McCubbins, his first wife Ramona McCubbins and a sister Carolyn Sue Jewell.
John is survived by his wife Faye Childress McCubbins, Daughters Wendy Troyer(Abraham) & Jenny Jewell(Joe); Step-children Chad Childress(Shelia), Jeremy Childress(Kristen Fields) & Todd Childress(Brittany); Grandchildren Melanie(Nolan), lane, Elijah, Eden & Ezekiel; Step-grandchildren Breanna(Michael), Will(Mattie), Montanna & Dakotah; Brothers Charles McCubbins(Juanita) and Jimmy McCubbins(Robin).
The funeral service for John Wayne McCubbins will be held at 1pm Monday, June 9th in the chapel of Sego Funeral Home with Bro. Johnny Hubbard & Bro. Gary Talley officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 2-8pm, Sunday from 1-8pm and after 9am Monday at the Sego Funeral Home. Burial will be in the McCubbins Cemetery at Mt. Olivet.
In memory of John, the family request contributions for Gideon Bibles, these can be left at the funeral home.
