John A. Meier, 80, of Deer Park entered into the presence of the Lord on March 16th, 2025.
He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Beth Waser Meier; two daughters, Lynn Hodgson (Charlie), and Susan Kustusch (Chris); four Grandchildren, Nicole Hodgson, Hope Hodgson, Rory Kustusch, and Theo Kustusch.
John was born on November 28, 1944, in Detroit, MI, to Arnold and Edna Meier. He lived a full and rich life, one marked by a passion for learning, service, and a deep love for family and friends. He enjoyed attending and teaching bible studies, road trips and listening to and recording music and audio books. He was fond of mentoring youth in the Barrington area and in the city of Chicago.
John earned his undergraduate degree from Brown University and Master of Business Administration from Stanford University. John was a partner with Accenture for many years and he enjoyed recruiting and the teamwork of many projects. He ran the Manila, Philippines office from 1989-1993, an exciting opportunity that allowed the family to live abroad for four years.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 20, 2025 from 3 PM until 8 PM at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 941 S. Old Rand Rd., Lake Zurich, IL 60047.
Funeral service will be Friday, March 21 at the Village Church of Barrington, 1600 E. Main St. (Lake Cook Road), Barrington. 10AM visitation, 11 AM funeral service, and a lunch to follow.
