John J. Middleton
August 11, 1947 – November 3, 2025
John Jeffers Middleton, of New Braunfels, Texas, passed away on November 3, 2025 at the age of 78. Known as "Judge" by his family and friends, John was born in Temple, Texas on August 11, 1947. A graduate of MacArthur High School in San Antonio, John served in the United States Air Force, before graduating from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas.
A natural mechanic, John enjoyed working on cars, and collecting and restoring vintage radios from the 1930s and 1940s. John will be remembered for his charm and wit, and his extensive knowledge on a wide variety of topics.
John is preceded in death by his parents, June Jeffers and Edward Middleton, Jr., and Alanson Brown and wife, Peggy.
He is survived by his son, John "Jeff" Middleton, II, and his wife, Amy, of San Antonio; his brothers Richard Brown and wife, Kim; Mark Brown; Frank Brown and his wife of San Angelo; his sister Lin Middleton Weiss and her husband, Steven of Weatherford; and brother Scott Middleton and his wife, Jennifer, of Longmont, Colorado, along with many loving nieces, nephews, and a multitude of lifelong friends.
A funeral service will be held at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery on Thursday, November 20, 2025 at 10:45 AM at Shelter #5. Family and friends are welcomed to attend and celebrate John's life.

John's family would like to extend our deepest gratitude to Trinity Care Assisted Living, and Kindful Health Hospice for their faith-based, thoughtful process in end-of-life care, and the attention and compassion with which they held this dear son, brother, father, and friend.
