John Dail Moore, 79, passed away Sunday, March 3, 2024 at Ogeechee Area Hospice Inpatient Center in Statesboro, Georgia, surrounded by his loved ones. Dail was born in Reidsville, Georgia on February 3, 1945 to JD and Mary Durrence Moore. He graduated from Glennville High School in 1963 and from Clemson University in 1967. Dail served his country from 1967 until 1969 in the Georgia Army National Guard. Dail's career in Nuclear Power began at Vogtle Electric Generating Plant in Burke County, Georgia. Upon returning home to care for his parents, Dail transferred to Hatch Nuclear Power Plant in Baxley, Georgia. After his retirement from Plant Hatch, Dail became a consultant for INCO Service in Savannah, Georgia retiring from there in 2011. 

Dail was a talented musician with the knowledge and ability to play any stringed musical instrument, having taught him self while in college. Some of his favorite memories were made playing and listening to country and blue grass music. He played with the recording groups, "Mike Johnson and the Sound of Bluegrass", in the 1970's and along with the group recorded an album in 1976, in which Dail was featured on the Mandolin. During this time, he also had the opportunity to play music with actor Steve Martin. Dail enjoyed fast cars, hunting, and exercising at the local gym, when he was able. His latest favorite pastime was spending time with Maridean and his "adopted family" especially Evan and Levi, as he was affectionately known as "Grandpa" to them and the other family members.

He was a member of the Glennville First Baptist Church and was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by, his fiancée, Maridean G. Waters and her family, Ray Brannen (Lesa), Byron Brannen (Mara), Brooke Brannen, Evan and Levi Brannen all of Glennville, Georgia. Other family and friends also survive. 

The family will receive friends beginning at 1:30 pm, Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at Brannen Family Funeral Services with Funeral Services to follow at 3:00 pm at the chapel of Brannen Family Funeral Services. Burial will follow in Glennville City Cemetery.
