John C. Mueller, 82, of Langdon, ND, passed away Thursday, October 2, 2025, at his home.
John was born October 8, 1942, in Langdon, ND, to Louis and Alice (Knight) Mueller. He grew up near Dresden and attended Langdon High School, graduating in 1960. After high school, John entered the US Air Force and served four years in aircraft electronics. He married JoAnn Nelson on July 19, 1964, in Bottineau, ND. They lived in Lincoln, Nebraska, where John worked as a draftsman for the NE Dept. of Roads and then was a traffic technician for the City of Lincoln until moving back to North Dakota in 1975. They farmed near Dresden for a short time and were the third generation of John’s family to live on the farm. John and JoAnn owned and operated John’s TV and Radio, first at their home and then in Langdon, for 25 years. John then worked in maintenance at the hospital in Langdon for 16 years, retiring in 2013.
John was a good-hearted, private man with a wonderful sense of humor. He was a problem solver and enjoyed tinkering on things, especially electronics, and always had a project lined up. He liked woodworking and being outdoors. He enjoyed playing and watching pool, particularly Snooker, and always looked forward to spending time with friends and family. He was a former Mason.
Surviving John are his wife, JoAnn, of Langdon, ND; daughter Joelle (Amy) Gup of Colorado; sister Donna Olson; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant son John Charles II; brothers Edward (Threase), George, and Arthur (Ann); and brother-in-law Allan Olson.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at United Lutheran Church in Langdon, ND, with visitation starting at 1:00 p.m. Burial of ashes will be at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery near Dresden, ND.
