John Murphy Obituary

Publish in a newspaper

John "Jack" F. Murphy, of Easton, passed away on November 16, 2025, at the age of 72, surrounded by his adoring family.
Born on May 28, 1953, in Brockton to John F. Murphy and M. Lois (Leach) Murphy, Jack grew up with a deep sense of family and faith. He graduated from Xaverian Brothers High School in 1971 and later continued his education at Bridgewater State University.
Jack is survived by his devoted wife, Colleen (Sullivan) Murphy, and their daughter, Shannon Murphy Weibeler, and her husband, Alex. Being "Dad" to "his girls" was Jack's greatest joy. He is also survived by his brothers-Paul, Jerry, and Jim-his lifelong best friends, as well as their wives and nine cherished nieces and nephews. Jack's phone was a secret quiet archive of family love: various photos of the Murphy cousins, screenshots of their accomplishments, and little pieces of memories he kept close.
Jack lived his life with unwavering integrity, firmly rooted in his beliefs and values. His loyal support of his family, and of anyone fortunate enough to be loved by him, was at the center of who he was. Throughout his career, he built treasured relationships with colleagues across the country, connections marked by respect, honesty, and genuine friendships that would last years into retirement.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral on Friday, November 21, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. in Kane Funeral Home & Cremation Services 605 Washington Street (Rte.138) Easton. Interment will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater. Visiting Hours on Thursday from 4-7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers donations in Jack's memory may be sent to Jimmy Fund/Dana-Farber Cancer Institute P.O. Box 849168 Boston, MA 02284 or via dana-farber.org/gift.
