John Windell Newton was born on September 10,1953 in Rose Hill North Carolina. He served in the United States Army as a cryptanalyst from 1979-1994, where he earned top security clearance in the Intelligence and communications division. After retiring from the army, John worked for Fayetteville Technical Community College as a Security Supervisor until he retired from the state of North Carolina in 2017.
John was a unique balance of structure and flow. He had a strong sense of dignity and was firm in his principles. However, he maintained youthful curiosity and had a smile and witty sense of humor that would light up any room. John was an extraordinary family man with an impeccable sense of duty, who believed in hard work, discipline, and helping others. Although his physical presence will be missed by all, his impact will remain forever.
John was preceded in death by his parents Theresia Newton and Wisbon Newton, Sr.
We, the survivors, offer a prayer of gratitude for the precious gift of memories to sustain us: wife, Ethel M.Newton; children, Olivia E. Newton, Tony J. Newton, and Lakisha V. Newton; grandchildren; Mehki, Anani, Neeko, Elias, Jaylen, and Jamiyah; brothers, Wisbon L. Newton and Sylvester Newton; sisters; Elsie J. Bragg, Rose A. Newton, Resia, F. Carr and a host of other relatives and friends.
