John Nitkiewicz, a loving son, father, sibling, uncle and friend passed away peacefully on August 29th, 2025, surrounded by the family he loved. John was born in Toledo, OH, on May 28, 1958, to Alex and Alice (Domagala) Nitkiewicz. After graduating from St. Francis DeSales High School, John started his career journey at Toledo's Jeep plant, working his way up to becoming a leader and mentor until his retirement. After his retirement he began to focus on his mission to bring more awareness to Diabetic health and fitness by becoming a Wellness Coach. Through his education and tenacity, he was able to be a positive force in the community.
John was a patient, kind and generous man. He showed grace when needed and always gave when he could to someone in need, whether it was a listening ear or in monetary form.
Surviving are his children, Angie Flick and Charlie Thomas; and his sister, Janine Szynkowski.
John's Life Celebration will be Saturday, September 13, 2025, from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m., at Urbanski Funeral Home a Life Celebration Home, 5055 Secor Rd., Toledo, OH, where his memorial service will begin at 12 p.m. Interment will be held privately at Calvary Cemetery.

I have not seen John in a long time but I do remember he was great pitcher back in the 4th ward old timer league rip John hope to join you in the big leagues some day. God bless.

John and myself would go fishing Saturday mornings with his Dad Al and my Dad Stan in the 1960´s. We caught so many Perch one summer that we ran out of room to bury the fish guts behind Uncle Al´s garage on Manhattan. He was a great friend.
