John Joseph, Jr., age 84, on October 9, 2023, of Haverford, PA.
John (Joe) attended Roman Catholic high school and graduated in 1957 and then graduated from Philadelphia College of Textiles and Sciences.
Joe formed O'Mara Incorporated while working out of his home in Ardmore and went on to enjoy a 58 year career in textiles. He later welcomed his children into the business with him in North Carolina and Pennsylvania.
Joe enjoyed golfing with his sons, sailing with his mates and grandchildren and vacationing with his family. Joe was a member of Aronimink Golf Club, and Diamond Creek, NC golf clubs.
Predeceased by his children, Christopher, Timothy, and Ehrin, and daughter-in-law, Michelle O'Mara.
Joe married Helen Martin in 1964 and they enjoyed 59 years of marriage.
He is survived by his wife Helen (nee Martin) O'Mara, his children, Meighan McGovern (Pete), Katherine Mears (Bob), daughter-in-law Margaret O'Mara, his siblings, William "Bud" (Linda), Thomas O'Mara (Rosemary), Ruthann O'Mara, S.S.J., Margaret Hennelly Bergin (the late Al), and Florence Hartman (Bob). He was Poppee to his 11 grandchildren, Hailey, Christopher Jr. (Alyssa), Maggie, Ryan, Lindsey, Jack, Finn, Ehrin, Ehrin, McKenna and Bobby.
Relatives & friends are invited to his Funeral Mass Thursday, October 12th 11:00 AM at St. John Neumann Parish 380 Highland Lane, Bryn Mawr, PA 19010. Interment Calvary Cemetery.
