John Patrick, 42 of Milltown, New Jersey passed away on Monday, October 21, 2024.
Born Friday, January 1, 1982 in New Brunswick, New Jersey, John was the only son of Gilbert and Jean Patrick. He was raised in Milltown, New Jersey.
John graduated from Bishop Ahr High School, before earning a Bachelor's degree from the University of Scranton. Upon graduating from college, John was accepted into the Cape May Police Academy. John worked with the Springfield Police Department. After spending the early part of his career as a patrol officer, John was assigned as an investigator within the Investigative Division from 2018 through 2021, where he excelled in investigations involving all forms of cybercrime and fraud, having achieved the status of a Certified Fraud Examiner on his personal time, During his time in the Investigative Division, John was assigned on loan to the Union County Prosecutor's Office High-Tech Crimes Unit for several months. John was posthumously promoted to the rank of Detective.
Beyond his professional achievements, John was an exceptional father and husband, cherished for his unwavering dedication to his family. He relished in spending quality time with his wife and daughters. Family vacations to the Poconos, PA and Diamond Beach, NJ were among his most treasured moments. An avid outdoorsman, John enjoyed snowboarding and boating. He also adored his Porsche, which was more than just a car to him; it was a symbol of his hard work and success.
His passion for helping others extended beyond his family and job, as he was the founder of a non-profit organization dedicated to assisting the elderly from fraud schemes.
John will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him as a protector, community servant, and loving family man. His legacy will live on through his daughters and in the countless lives he touched both through his professional work and generous spirit.
John is predeceased by his father Gilbert and his four little angels.
John is survived by his beloved wife of 10 years, Christine, by his cherished daughters Vanessa and Gabriella, by his fur baby Daisy, by his adoring mother Jean, by his loving sisters Nicole, Bonnie, and Cathy, by his caring mother in law Barbara Cosmas, and his many aunts, uncles, and cousins, sisters in law, brother in law, nieces, nephews, Springfield Police Department family, and friends.
The family will receive friends between the hours of 3:00 pm and 8:00 pm on Monday, October 28, 2024, at the Michael Hegarty and John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals and Cremation Service.
