John Leslie Perry Jr., affectionately known as "Bubba," peacefully passed away at the age of 90 on January 9, 2025, in his beloved home in Elgin, surrounded by the warmth and love of family.
Bubba lived a life deeply rooted in his passion for farming, a testament to his tireless work ethic and dedication to nurturing the land. His heart held a special place for his family; they were his greatest treasure, and he consistently poured his love and support into their lives.
He is mourned by his loving wife of 48 years, Kim Roxanne Jorgensen Perry, who stood by his side through all of life's seasons. He leaves behind his cherished children, Sara Lorraine and Lacy Dawn Perry, who carry forward his legacy of love and resilience. Bubba is also remembered fondly by numerous cousins and their spouses, who will hold onto the memories of the joy he brought into their lives.
Bubba was preceded in death by his parents, John Leslie Sr. and Mabel Lola Perry of Austin, as well as his sister, Barbara Ann Perry Nardecchia of Taylor. Together, they remember him not just with sorrow, but with admiration for a life well-lived.
Family and Friends are invited to celebrate Bubba's remarkable life during a Visitation at Elgin Funeral Home on Thursday, January 23rd, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, followed by a Graveside Service, Manor Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest with Military Honors. Let us gather to honor the love, spirit, and dedication of a man who touched the lives of so many.
