John Wayman Plunkett, 55, of Cullman, Alabama, passed away on December 9, 2025. Mr. Plunkett was born in Hollywood, Florida, on February 10, 1970, to the late J.T. Plunkett and Martha Marie Harris Plunkett.
John is preceded in death by his father. Those surviving Mr. Plunkett include his wife of twelve years, Amy Phillips Plunkett; mother, Martha Marie Harris Plunkett; children, Brandon Plunkett, Christopher Phillips, J.T. Plunkett, Janet Plunkett (Patrick), Sheila Plunkett (Jason); brothers, Jimmy Plunkett (Judy), Jeff Plunkett (Brandi); sister, Joan Plunkett; grandchildren, Kloe, Emmett, Rowan, Ezra, Vada, and baby Gina (arriving soon); as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
John was a welder by trade, but his true passion was working on cars. He enjoyed drag racing alongside his brother and he also liked to ride horses. John also raised and traded chickens.
Mr. Plunkett was a loving husband and a wonderful father. He loved his family and absolutely adored his grandbabies who all called him Pawpaw. John was a good man, and he will be missed by many.
Funeral services for Mr. Plunkett will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Antioch Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m., with Brandon Mason officiating. Friends are invited to join the family prior to services for a time of visitation, beginning at 12 noon and concluding as the service begins. Mr. Plunkett will be laid to rest in the adjoining cemetery where Jr. Dale Phillips, Kenneth Phillips, Dylan Phillips, Randy French, Josh Brown, Chris Stevenson, Jonathan Powell, and Bo Plunkett will serve as pallbearers.
