John grew up in Lancaster, Pennsylvania and attended Lancaster Country Day School and The Lawrenceville School and also attended Tulane University.
John managed American Bar and Grill in Lancaster, Pennsylvania and moved to California and managed the Hyatt Carmel Highlands and later, after retirement became a loving caregiver to her daughter, Katie.
John loved to travel, golf, and bowl in his free time. Nothing was more comforting to John than a great meal.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to The Special Olympics or the ASPCA.
