John R. Racette

John R. Racette of Wilson, NY husband of Treva Racette entered into rest on July 25, 2025. He was born in Westport, NY on November 16, 1942, the son of the late John D. Racette and Lucille Gratton Racette. John served in the U.S. Army as a certified aircraft mechanic during the Vietnam War. He was the owner/operator of Rays Auto Repair in Wilson, NY. John was a 4-sport athlete from 1958-1960 in Starpoint Highschool and was the first to be inducted in the Starpoint Highschool Wall of Fame in 2004. In 1963 he received a letter from the New York Yankees to try out for their team.
Father of Raymond (Andrea) Racette and Thomas Hamelink. Grandfather of Amber (Brandon) Fetterhoff, Andrew Hamelink and Mattie Hamelink. Great grandfather of Landon, Branson and Leena. Brother of Lillian McCray and the late Elma Whitney and Gladys Rizzo.
No prior visitation. Military Honors will be held on August 6, 2025 at 1pm in the Western New York National Cemetery.
