John E. "Jack" Rahill

John E. "Jack" Rahill, 89, passed away peacefully Sunday afternoon. He was a lifelong resident of Benicia. Jack worked as a butcher for over 36 years beginning at Del Monte in San Francisco and later at Tesio Meat Company in Oakland before retiring in 1992.
Jack graduated form Benicia High School Class of 1951 and was a well rounded athlete playing baseball, and football. After high school he served in the United States Air Force from 1953-1957.
Jack enjoyed playing cards, taking road trips to Fort Bragg and the Redwoods, listening to classical country music and watching the birds in his yard. He was a soft spoken father of five who will be remembered for his swiss steak and his famous corned beef and cabbage.
He is survived by his children Lori (Drake) Valentine, Michael Rahill, Timothy Rahill, Rudy (Brandi) Rahill and Jennifer Rahill; his grandchildren Brandon Rahill, JoAnna Lane, Jacob Rahill, Emily Rahill and Jordan Valentine; and his great grandchild Makai Rahill. Jack was preceded in death by JoAnn, his wife of 33 years in 1994.
Visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m. Thursday followed by a vigil service at 6:00 p.m. at Passalacqua Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday also at Passalacqua Funeral Chapel followed by burial with military honors at St. Dominic's Cemetery.
