John Ramilo ObituaryJohn Ramilo, 77, passed away surrounded by his loving family on October 13, 2025.
John was born in Brooklyn, NY to his predeceased parents, Maria Otilia and John Ramilo.
After John graduated school he was drafted to the Army and served as sergeant for the 895th Military Police in Okinawa,Japan from 1969 to 1970 during the Vietnam War. Before being drafted to the Army, he met and married his wife of 57 years, Maria Aleixo while vacationing in Portugal.
After the Army, John moved to Kearny, NJ and went to work for the New York Supreme Court as a court officer in the Criminal Division. While working full-time, he went to St. Francis College in Brooklyn and received a degree in Criminal Justice and Psychology. In 1993, John relocated to Sayreville, NJ where he spent many happy years.
John enjoyed spending time in his vacation home in Cape May, NJ. He was an avid baseball and soccer fan, had a passion for classic films, played guitar and enjoyed going to Atlantic City with his wife.
John adored his family and is survived by his devoted wife Maria Ramilo, daughter and son-in-law Deborah and Raymond Yuhas, and daughter Carol Ramilo. He will always be remembered as a loving and dedicated husband and father.
A visitation will be Friday from 9:30am to 10:30am at Maliszewski Memorial Home 121 Main Street, Sayreville, with a 10:30am prayer service at the funeral home. Burial will folow at New Calvary Cemetery in Parlin.
