John "Pop" Robert Randall, age 77, of Addison, New York, went to be with his Lord on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at his home with his family by his side. He was born on December 8, 1947, in Corning, New York, to Merle (Isabell Brown) Randall. John was a 1967 graduate of Addison High School. He married Pamela Randall (Allen) on April 4, 2009.
He was employed for many years with Moody's Blacktopping and Cardinale's Tree Service and was a tree surgeon and concrete mason.
John became an ordained Mennonite pastor and served at the Jesus Church in the 1980s. He was also the pastor of the Northern Riders. His strong faith opened many doors for him to share God's word through officiating countless weddings and funerals. John believed deeply in helping others and giving back to his community.
John will be remembered as an amazing husband, father and grandfather. He dedicated an unmatched amount of time to Addison Cinderella and Addison Little League. He coached, cared for the grounds, and umpired what felt like a million pitches on the Little League field, leaving a lasting impact on generations of Addison young athletes. He also coached for TWAC Wrestling for many years. In recognition of his contributions to wrestling, track, and his unwavering commitment to coaching the youth of Addison, he was inducted into the Addison Sports Hall of Fame in 2012.
An avid outdoorsman and hunter, John had a passion to share his knowledge and love of hunting with others. He also enjoyed motorcycle rides and was a proud member of the Northern Riders.
He is survived by his loving wife, Pam Randall; two children: Sheri (Josh) Allen of Addison and Cindi (Mike) Benjamin of Addison; two stepchildren: John Mazzga of Addison and Lora Hoose of Bath. He was a proud grandfather to eight grandchildren: Nichole (Christopher) Hyjek, Bradley (Kaitlyn) Randall, Jordan Allen, Gehrig (Morgan) Allen, Michael (Kelsey) Benjamin, Isabella (Gio) Benjamin, Craig Mazzga, and Katlyn Hoose; and four great-grandchildren: Ava Dininny, Gracelynn Randall, Owen Randall, and Mantle Hyjek.
He is also survived by his siblings: Larry Randall of Florida and Sharon Romani of Corning.
In addition to his parents, John was predeceased by siblings Eugene Randall, Donald Randall, Lyman Randall, and Elsie Dann.
A private graveside service will be held at Presho Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Addison American Legion, 85 Maple St, Addison, NY on September 5, 2025 at 5pm. The family has entrusted arrangements to Flint Funeral Home in Addison.
In lieu of flowers, donations in John's memory may be sent to: Addison Youth Baseball, PO Box 164, Addison, NY 14801.
The man, the myth, the legend. If you had the chance to ask him how he was doing today, he'd say: 'More better, more good.'"
