John Ernest Robinson

ROBINSON, John E. - age 86, of Davison, Michigan, passed away on February 10, 2026. He was born on April 2, 1939, in South Haven, Michigan, to the late William and Eulene (Spillers) Robinson. John was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was a man of ambition and duty, and he carried himself with quiet strength throughout his life. He was a meticulous handyman who was known for his vast knowledge, and his workshop was his sanctuary.

Drafted into the United States Marine Corps, John honorably served his country. Following his service, he built a successful career in the technology industry, where he worked for well over 30 years. On December 29, 1962, John married the love of his life, Joan (Guilbault), and they settled in Portage, Michigan, where they started a family and raised three children. Their neighborhood offered them many fulfilling friendships, which they cherished throughout their lives. During his retirement, he enjoyed many years of pleasure and solace with friends and family in South Haven.

John is survived by two children, Steve (Kim) Robinson of Metamora, Michigan and Karen (Dan) Ondejko of Cary, North Carolina, daughter-in-law, Monica Robinson of Lake Orion, Michigan; six grandchildren, Kayla, Mackenzie (Daniel), Branden, Hailey, Jenna, and Nathan; and one great-granddaughter, Adelynn; two sisters, Julie (the late Ted) Esman and Jacqueline (Ron) VandeStreek; many nieces and nephews, and other loving family members and dear friends.

John was preceded in death by his dear wife, Joan Robinson, his loving son, Greg Robinson, and his parents, William and Eulene Robinson.

To honor John's wishes, there will be no funeral service at this time. There will be a Celebration of Life for both John and Joan in Kalamazoo, Michigan at a later date.
