My deepest condolences to my Cousins, your father was a wonderful man.
Uncle John was a great man. He wasn’t just my uncle, He is my late husband Hank’s Nino. After Hank‘s passing more than five years ago, Uncle John and I became Pen Pals. I’ll cherish his letters full of words of encouragement that gave me strength through that difficult time. His letters were like therapy for me. We talked a lot about nothing and shared everything. Especially our gardening and yard adventures. Even when his handwriting began to get ‘Scribblely’ his words, he still wrote to me. I’m really gonna miss you Uncle John.
I still have the two white laced pillows from 1977 with the words, Bride and Groom on them that he gave us on our wedding day. Uncle John was so talented. He would send me embroidery cards and small quilts that I proudly display and often shared with friends. Bragging to them “My Uncle John made these”. His handmade potholders are my favorite. Years ago on his last visit Uncle John recognized his work in my kitchen, he was pleased to see them in use. Rest in Peace Uncle John & God Bless.
Thank you Uncle John for your Love and Support. Give Hank & Cuca a hug from me. I’m really gonna miss you, your Niece Phyllis Zavala of Fresno Ca
