John Rubick, of Middletown, NJ, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, August 21, at the age of 59, after a year-long battle with glioblastoma brain cancer.

Born in Huntington, New York, John grew up on Long Island and attended Harborfields High School. He went on to earn his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University at Buffalo before beginning a career marked by dedication and integrity.

He moved to Middletown in 1999, where he built a warm and loving home with his wife, Kathleen. The two shared 28 wonderful years of marriage, raising their two children, Johnny Connor and Lauren Rae, who were his greatest joy and proudest accomplishment.

John had a long and dedicated career as a Claims Unit Manager with MLMIC (Medical Liability Mutual Insurance Company), where he worked for 24 years. Known for his work ethic, leadership, and kindness, John earned the respect and admiration of colleagues and friends alike.

Beyond his professional life, John was incredibly handy and loved taking on projects and getting things done. He found joy in time spent on the water, boating and fishing, and also enjoyed running as one of his favorite hobbies. His drive, energy, and love for simple pleasures in life will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.

He will be remembered as a devoted husband, a proud and caring father, a supportive brother, and a loyal friend. His warmth, sense of humor, and steady presence touched the lives of many.

John is survived by his loving wife, Kathleen; his cherished children, Johnny Connor and Lauren Rae; his siblings, Joanne Salerno and her husband Bob, Edwin Rubick and his wife Becky, and Betty Anne Ranney and her husband Gary.

He was also predeceased by his brother, James Rubick.

John is further survived by his beloved nieces and nephews, Carolyn (James) Prudente, Alexander Prudente, Peter Salerno and his wife Suzanne, Christopher Ranney, Florence and Amelia Salerno, as well as Sarah and Gregory Rubick.

Viewing and visitation will be held at St. Mary's Mother of God Church, 19 Cherry Tree Farm Road, Middletown, NJ 07748, on Saturday August 30th 2025 from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m.
