Catherine S. Webster

Catherine S. Webster passed away peacefully on August 24, 2025, at Riverview Medical Center. Her devoted children Jennifer and Charlie held her hand as she took her last breath.

Catherine was born on May 9, 1946, in New Brunswick, NJ. She moved to the Middletown area in 1971. In 1974, she moved to her forever home in Lincroft, where she raised her family.

She graduated from New Brunswick High School. She then graduated from University College at Rutgers University with an Accounting Degree.

Catherine often shared stories about working at Hahn's Lake-vu Tavern with her uncle. After high school, she joined NJ Bell while pursuing her college degree in accounting. She later worked at Rutgers University, then moved to UMDNJ's Grants Department until retirement. She also served as a bookkeeper for Dr. Meola's OB/GYN office.

In her retirement, she kept herself busy with several hobbies. She and her family loved Jeopardy and shared the Jeopardy calendar every holiday. She loved to crochet baby blankets and hats. She could get pulled into a book and finish it in a day. She loved a good cry when watching a Hallmark movie. She also enjoyed watching Perry Mason, Matlock and In the Heat of The Night.

She is predeceased by her parents, Nicholas and Catherine Stass. Also, her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Claire and John Fisler.

She is survived by her loving children, Jennifer (Jeff Hamel), Stephanie and Charles II. Her sister's and brother-in-law, Agnes Stass and Joan and Joseph Baur. Her grand dog Roxie. Also many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Her family would also encourage everyone to consider donating blood or platelets. These generous donations save lives every day.

Catherine and her family would also like to thank all the nurses, aids and cleaning staff on 3 East at Riverview Medical Center as well as Shawna on the hospice team. These people are angels that walk on the earth every day. The kindness and compassion that they shared with our family will never be forgotten.

The viewing with be Thursday, August 28, 2025, from 5 to 8 pm.

The funeral mass with be at 10:15 am on Friday, August 29, 2025, at St. Leo The Great in Lincroft, NJ.
