John Runk Obituary

John was born on August 6, 1940 and was the son of the late Emory W. and Ruby M. (Zeigler) Runk. He graduated from Spring Grove Area High School and worked in the construction industry. John was a former member of the Nashville Volunteer Fire Company in Spring Grove and enjoyed drag racing and working on his cars.
John is survived by his daughter Kimberly Fink and husband Dana; his grandchildren Jessica Markle and husband Joshua and Lauren Valentine and husband Luke; and his great grandson Leo. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by his siblings Adam Runk, Betty Nace, and Franklin Runk.
A Memorial Service in celebration of John's life will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2024 at 10:00AM at Saint Paul Lutheran Church, 250 Trinity Rd., York, PA 17408.
Professional services are under the direction of Beck Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc., of Spring Grove.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in John's memory may be made to Pappus House, 66 Big Mount Rd., Thomasville, PA 17364 or to Sepsis Alliance, 3180 University Ave., Suite 310, San Diego, CA 92104.

My Dad, Adam, was Uncle John's brother. I am happy that I got to see him when I came for Uncle Frankie's memorial service. He lived in Mammaw's house. I remember playing in the tree in the front yard when I was a kid. I can honestly say that Uncle John had a great personality. He will be missed.
