Thomas R. Ferrence

Thomas R. Ferrence, age 81, of Spring Grove, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on June 15, 2025. He was the loving and devoted husband of Bonita G. (Sellers) Ferrence; together they shared over 58 years of marriage.
Thomas was born in Spring Grove, PA on October 28, 1943 and was the son of the late Lester D. and Ruth N. (Miller) Ferrence. He graduated from Spring Grove Area High School Class of 1961 and worked for H.J. Williams Construction of York as an operator. Thomas later worked for Kinsley Constructions as a project manager from which he retired in 2020 after 36 years of employment. He was also a member of Pleasant Hill Brethren Church in Spring Grove where he faithfully served as a Deacon and was extremely active in Gideon's Bible International. Above all, Thomas cherished his family and the time he spent with them.
In addition to his loving wife Bonita, Thomas is survived by his children Timothy Ferrence and wife Cynthia, Kimberly Miller and husband Matthew, and Jennifer Cassel and husband James; his grandchildren Hunter Ferrence (Rachel), Lane Ferrence (Lydia), Jordan Rentzel (Levi), Connor Miller (Sarah), Landon Miller, Natalie Cassel, Amber Cassel, Caitlyn Miller (Tyler), and Jackson Cassel; and seven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings Herbert Ferrence and wife Jane and Diane Negley and husband Dean. Thomas was preceded in death by his siblings Cheryl Long and Lester Ferrence, Jr.
A Funeral Service in celebration of Thomas' life will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at 10:00AM at Calvary Bible Church, 603 Wilson Ave., Hanover, PA 17331 with Pastors Matt Miller, Larry Miller, and Ray Mummert officiating. He will be laid to rest following the service at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Spring Grove. Viewings will be held on Friday, June 20, 2025 from 5:00PM – 8:00PM and on Saturday from 9:00AM – 10:00AM both at Calvary Bible Church.
