John William Selph

John William Selph was born on June 14th,1944 in Detroit, Michigan. He attended Western High School in SW Detroit where he met his wife, May (Elia) Selph. They married and had three children, Tracey, John II and Anthony. They soon moved to Berkley, MI, where the family would live for 50 years.
John joined a trade school shortly after high school and parlayed that into a 40 year+ career at Chrysler. John was a wonderful father and doting husband with a huge, generous heart. He is survived by his daughter, Tracey Selph; son, Anthony Selph; seven grandchildren, Carson, Donovan, Breana, Miranda, Jace, John III, Ruby; three great-grandchildren; brother, Duane Selph; and sister, Janice Tucker. John was preceded in death his wife, May (2023); his son, John II (2020); and his sisters, Sarah and Ruth.
John was in hospice care when he passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on October 22, 2024.
Friends and family are welcome to gather and visit on Friday, November 15 from 1:30 PM until 2:00 PM the start of the Committal Service at Christian Memorial Gardens West, 521 E Hamlin Rd, Rochester Hills Call (248) 651-8192 for additional information.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Fight Alzheimer's Disease and Dementia will be greatly appreciated by the family in honor of those who've been affected.
