Judith Maureen Gresham passed away peacefully on December 20, 2025, in Royal Oak, Michigan, at the age of 88. Judy was born on July 12, 1937, in
Detroit, Michigan, to the late Gladys and David Wemp. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her beloved husband, Billie.
Judy leaves behind a devoted family who will carry her memory forward, including her cherished daughter, Cynthia Wilson; son-in-law Scott, her adored granddaughters, Leah and Anna Wilson and her sister Barbara Wemp. She is also fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews and friends.
Judy was a dedicated student and graduated from Mumford High School in Detroit in 1955. With a natural aptitude for numbers and organization, she pursued accounting studies at Walsh College beginning in 1956. Her professional life reflected her strong work ethic and loyalty, as she spent 36 years with Intercity Trucking Company in various accounting roles, proudly embodying the values of a committed Teamster.
A devout Christian, Judy lived her faith through everyday acts of kindness, generosity, and compassion. She enjoyed traveling with senior groups, always eager to explore new places and experiences. An avid reader throughout her life, she took great pleasure in books and lifelong learning.
Judy was also a passionate gardener who took meticulous care of her perennials. Many of the plants she lovingly tended now continue to grow in the gardens of friends and family, a living reminder of her care and thoughtfulness.
One of Judy's greatest joys was caring for her granddaughters from infancy through their high school years. She was a constant presence in their lives, faithfully attending their activities and cheering them on with pride. She often shared that the time spent with her granddaughters were the happiest years of her life.
Judy's hobbies reflected her deep affection for written correspondence and the connections she cherished with friends and loved ones. She maintained a remarkable lifelong friendship with a pen pal from Germany-a bond that began in fifth grade and lasted 75 years. Both Judy and her pen pal were enthusiastic stamp collectors, often including stamps in their letters to one another. She delighted in sending cards for every occasion to those she knew. Photography was another of Judy's passions; she was seldom without a camera and took great joy in creating photo albums. She also generously gave her time as a volunteer at Beaumont Hospital and the Festival of Trees.
Known for her quick wit and warm laughter, Judy always had a joke to share and a smile to offer. She treasured conversations with friends, whether chatting on the phone or meeting for lunch, and valued the relationships she built throughout her life.
Funny, loving, and generous, Judy lived a life rich in relationships, purpose, and simple joys. Her legacy lives on through the family and friends who were fortunate enough to know her.
As we say goodbye to Judy, we celebrate a life well lived and a spirit that touched many. Though her earthly journey has ended and she has gone on to be with our Heavenly Father, her kindness, humor, and love will continue to be remembered and cherished always.
