Mark Eperjesy Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by Sawyer-Fuller Funeral Home & Cremation Services on Dec. 29, 2025.
Mark Francis Eperjesy found peace on December 23, 2025. Mark's loving memory will live on through his wife, Susan, and daughter, Emily. He is also survived by his parents, Richard and Marilyn; his brothers, Eric, Christopher (Beth), and Robert Eperjesy, and Tim Wilson; and his sister, Tricia Perkins. He was preceded in death by his brother, Mike Daniot and his Mom, Rita Wilson.
Mark made the bold choice to move out west after high school, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Arizona State University. He later moved to California, beginning his career in the Title Industry. Upon returning to Michigan, he met his wife, Susan, marking the start of 30 years of marriage and a career in the Automotive Industry. In 1999, their daughter, Emily, was born, completing their family. In 2005, they made a courageous move to Shanghai, China.
Overseas, Mark did extensive international travel, sharing the world with his family, and excelling in his career. While in Shanghai, Mark held the title of Vice President and Executive Director at multiple Tier 1 Automotive Companies. During this time, he also earned his Master's Degree from Rutgers University Shanghai. Mark's relatability with people, his optimism, and gregarious nature was unparalleled. He spent his life fostering meaningful relationships, often making family out of friends around the world. Mark embraced taking chances, whether skydiving, bungee jumping, or moving his young family to Asia.
Mark had a true zest for life and found joy in many pursuits, including golfing, skiing, bowling, biking, and singing karaoke. He was also known for his remarkable talents and unforgettable moments like driving a golf ball off a beer can for more than 230 yards to the delight of his friends. Mark was known to perform his legendary "donkey kick" dance at multiple venues including: a family Christmas party in Michigan, as well as across Southeast Asia, France, Australia, Ireland, and even aboard a boat on the Huangpu River during a farewell celebration. He attended countless Saint Patrick's Day Balls in Shanghai, lighting up the dance floor in his custom tuxedos.
Mark's arduous battle with Frontotemporal Dementia (Pick's disease) came to an end on December 23, surrounded by his family and an abundance of love in his final days. Approximately 50,000 people in the United States are living with this rare disease. In hopes of helping others-not only in America, but around the world-Mark's brain has been entrusted to the University of Michigan, where it will be used in scientific research to advance understanding and, ultimately, bring peace to those affected and their loved ones.
Memorial visitation to celebrate Mark's life begins on January 7th at 10:00 AM at the Sawyer-Fuller Funeral Home, 2125 12 Mile Road, Berkley (two blocks west of Woodward Avenue). The family welcome all to come and Celebrate Mark's life at 11:00 AM.
