John Wayne Shields, 70, husband of Brenda Way Shields, passed away Monday, October 14, 2024, at his home on Karen Drive, Nicholasville, Kentucky. He was born in Woodford County on November 24, 1953, to the late Raymond Shields and Crystal Dee Wise Shields. Wayne was a master mechanic, having been self-employed for many years. He is survived by his wife, Brenda; sons, Jared Shields, Dwayne Shields (Melissa), and Robert Shields; grandchildren, Casey Shields, Morgan Shields, and McKenzie Shields; as well as great-grandchildren, Brayden Hager, Hunter Ferguson, Carter Ivey, and Tucker Ivey. Services will be held at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, October 22, at Chapel Hill Baptist Church, with Pastor Travis Votaw officiating. Burial will follow at Bluegrass Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until the time of service, Tuesday at the church. Betts & West is honored to serve Wayne and his family in their time of need.
