John Arch "Johnny" Sightler

John "Johnny" Arch Sightler, 67, of Marietta, went home to be with his Savior on Sunday, November 26, 2023.
Born on December 9, 1955 in Greenville, SC, he was the son of the late Aubrey and Ruth Thompson Sightler. Johnny was the brother of the late Irene Lawson and Aubrey "Skebo" Sightler.
Johnny graduated from Greenville High School in 1973, where he enjoyed playing football with Red Raiders. After graduating, he became a talented machinist and worked for several years for Laughlin Racing Products fabricating parts for NASCAR. During that time he also worked as a part-time gasman for a NASCAR Busch Series race team. Johnny went on to finish his career as a machinist by retiring from General Electric. However, Johnny will be remembered most for his love and devotion to his family, children and grandchildren.
Left to cherish his memory are his son, Casey Sightler (April); daughter, Meagan Knutson (Karl); grandsons, Gaven Sightler, Robert Knutson, Cannon Sightler and Caleb Knutson; granddaughter, Emily Sightler; great-grandson, Myles Knutson: and sister, Susan Webb (Danny).
Visitation will be held Monday, December 4, 2023, from 12:30 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Downtown with the funeral immediately following at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tabernacle Baptist Church Children's Home, 3931 White Horse Road, Greenville, SC 29611.
