John Frederick Sines Sr.

John Frederick Sines, Sr., age 77, passed away on October 18, 2025.

He was born on January 7, 1948, in Alliance, to Archie and Margaret (Baker) Sines.

A 1966 graduate of Marlington High School, Fred served in the Navy from 1966 through 1972 during the Vietnam War and received numerous awards and decorations. He worked as a millwright at American Steel Foundries and as a maintenance man at The Lady of the Elms.

Fred was a dedicated and loving man. He never met a stranger and was always willing to help. He could always be found working around the house or spending time with his dogs and family. He loved family movie classics and Country Rebel and Blabber Buzz.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Joyce (Becky) Sines; daughters, Kim Corp of Arkansas and Sarah Gelter (Josh) of Colorado; son, Jacob Cox (Danielle) of Akron; brothers, James Sines (Anita) and David Sines (Barb); sister-in-law, Sandy Citino (Jeff) and Sami Bowlin (Perry); brother-in-law, David Thomas (Debbie); four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, John F. Sines Jr., Jeff L. Sines, and Ernie Cox; brothers, Robert Sines, George Cosma, and Raymond Sines; and two grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Burial will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
