John J. Skowronek, Sr., of Garnet Valley, PA, formerly of Clifton Heights and Drexel Hill, a steadfast presence in the lives of many, passed away on August 8, 2025, at the age of 82.
Born in Darby, PA, he was the son of the late Francis and Martha (née Green) Skowronek.
John's career spanned an impressive 38 years with Ecolab, where he contributed greatly to the organization and built lasting relationships. His professional journey also included being a multiple business owner throughout Delaware and Chester Counties, a testament to his entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to the local economy.
A proud veteran, John served honorably in the United States Marine Corps, reflecting his patriotism and dedication to his country.
In his personal life, John was an avid golfer and fisherman, finding joy and relaxation in these pursuits. His passion for the ocean and the sport led him to become a member of the Townsend Inlet Yacht Club, where he cherished moments spent with friends and family amidst the beauty of nature. John also served as the former President of the Drexel Hill Little League.
John was the beloved husband of Mary F. (née Timoney) Skowronek; the loving father of Sharon Mongeluzi (Dan), John Skowronek (Kristina) and Kevin Skowronek (Michele). He is the proud and caring grandfather of Daniel, Gabrielle, Rebecca, Debbie, Emma, Johnny, Georgia, Madison, Spencer, Hayden and Trevor, and the dear great-grandfather of 6 great-grandchildren. John is predeceased by his granddaughter, Alyssa, Mongeluzi, his sister, Pamela Ranallo, and brother, Frank Skowronek.
Family and friends are invited to honor John's memory beginning on Wednesday evening, August 13, 2025, with a Viewing from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at The Donohue Funeral Home, 3300 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA 19073, and on Thursday morning, August 14, 2025 with a Viewing from 9:30 am to 10:15 am at St. Andrew the Apostle Church, 3500 School Ln, Drexel Hill, PA 19026, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 am. Interment thereafter at SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
