John Allen Smith, 70, a native of Anahuac, Texas, died Tuesday July 30, 2024, at the East View Nursing Home.
Services are Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2024, at Proctor's Mortuary 518 Miller St Anahuac, TX. Visitation will begin at 12noon until Funeral at 2PM. Interment will be in Bayshore Cemetery Anahuac, TX.
John was born May 15, 1954, to Arthur Dotson and Ella Mae Smith. John who was known as Big Dot was a loving husband, father figure, uncle, cousin, and a very great friend. He married his beautiful wife Rose in 1999, but overall, they been together for 38 yrs until she gained her wings in 2021. When John wasn't working on cars or working for Sears in the malls he enjoyed fishing, BBQ, also reading his Bible, and attended church regularly at First Missionary Baptist Church of Anahuac, Texas under the leadership of Pastor Peter Singleton, and Sunlight Missionary Baptist Church of Hankamer, Texas (at that time) under the leadership of Pastor David Hudson, and any other churches over the course of years that attended as well.
John was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and two sisters.
Loved ones who are left to cherish his memories are: Sister: Virginia Frank (Willie Frank Jr,); Son: Victor Woods (Mariana Delao): Daughter: Ellen Woods and Veronica Tutt: Great Nephew and Great Niece: Jerrell & Sylvia Mcgaughey and many more loving families from the Smith, Dotson, and also frank's family members.
