John F. St. John, of Levittown, died peacefully Monday, July 24, 2023, surrounded by his loving family, at the Jefferson Hospital-Torresdale Campus after a brief illness. He was 71 years old.
Born in Philadelphia, John had been a lifelong resident of Levittown and a 1970 graduate of Bishop Egan High School. He went on to obtain his bachelor's degree from La Salle University in computer science and had spent most of his working career as an IT analyst. Prior to his treasured retirement, John had been employed at the St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne for many years. He also worked at the Rohm & Haas Company and one of their sub-divisions, Toso-Haas. He obtained his real estate license and was a former agent with Prudential-Fox-Roach.
John proudly served his country with the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam war and was a member of the St. Joseph the Worker Council, #4215, Knights of Columbus. He was active in mission trips with local churches, helping people rebuild their homes after devastating storms. John enjoyed many activities with his friends such as weekly breakfast groups, jam sessions with his bandmates, and his weekly standing tradition of many years, with his dear friend, Ken - Monday Night Football – regardless of the season!
An avid music lover, John loved attending concerts and frequently took the train into Philadelphia for the WXPN Free at Noon shows. John enjoyed the Grateful Dead and loved following the Dead and Company to shows. He enjoyed golfing and was a member of the men's golf league at Northampton Country Club. John was a fan of all the Philadelphia sports teams, although the Phillies were his favorite. Attending Phillies games was a highlight of the summer for John, especially after he became a senior citizen and could ride Septa for free. He was also an accomplished bassist, finally getting to play a "gig" this past winter with his grandson, Aidan.
He will be remembered mostly as a man dedicated to his family. He was delighted to be married to JoAnn for 50 years. He was proud of all his children and grandchildren and was their biggest supporter. On any given weekend, you would find John on the sidelines of his grandkid's sports activities, or in the audience as they performed on stage. He cherished his annual family vacation to Sea Isle City.
John is survived by his wife of 50 years, JoAnn (nee Brennan), three children; Nicole Kinniry (Joe), Patrick St. John (Lori), and Christopher St. John (Jennifer), his loving grandchildren; Dominic, Kendall, Aidan, Daniel, Dylan, Miabella, Jaxson, and Maura.
Son of the late Donald and Dorothy (Canning) St. John, he is also survived by and will be terribly missed by his siblings: Dot Brennan (Ed), Maryanne Goheen (Bob), Donald St. John (Doreen), Suzanne Conard (Bob), several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He will be missed by members of the Brennan family, Ed (Dot), Geri (Pete), Celeste, and Terry (Cheryl).
His funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 2, 2023, 12:00 PM, at the Beck-Givnish Life Celebration Home, Inc., 7400 New Falls Road, Levittown, PA 19055. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his calling period from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at the Washington Crossing National Cemetery, with U. S. Navy Honors, precisely at 1:30 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in John's name can be made to the T2T (Tunnels to Towers) Foundation (t2t.org) or the Fisher House Foundation (fisherhouse.org).

So sorry to hear this news. We were best friends as kids growing up and throughout high school; drifted apart during our "kids" years. John was a great guy and a great father and husband. Wish I had seen him before he passed.

I am so, very sorry to hear this news about John. I met him at Rohm and Haas many years ago when he spent some time at the Bristol facility. He was such a great guy and everyone liked him. He was so pleasant and fun to be with and always had a smile. We would play trivia and would talk about music, family, etc. We missed him when he left Bristol but I ran into him years later at St Mary's while visiting a friend and it was so great to see him again. I'm so happy I was able to meet him and I will pray for his family that they can endure through this difficult time. RIP John.
