John Staker Obituary
He was born Thursday, January 20, 1938, in Zanesville, the son of Robert F. Staker and Mary Virginia (Fulmer) Staker and was a member of Saint Nicholas Catholic Church.
John was the manager for the Jai Lai Restaurant in Columbus, and B & B Industries as a contract driver for the United States Postal Service. He was a member of the American Quarter Horse Association and enjoyed riding horse, especially barrel racing and poles.
John is survived by his daughter, Ashlee & Jeffrey Schmitz of the Netherlands; grandsons, Maximilian, Alexander, Felix and Axel Schmitz and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by two brothers, Eugene "Gene" & Mary Lou Staker and James Staker.
Friends may call from 12 Noon to 12:45 PM, Wednesday January 15, 2025, at the Hillis, Combs & Nestor Funeral Home, 935 Forest Avenue, Zanesville, where Graveside Services will follow at 1:00 PM, in Mt. Olive Cemetery, with Fr. Martin J. Ralko officiant. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org in John's memory.
