John C Swanson Jr.

John C Swanson Jr. was born in Galena Park Texas on March the 19, 1950 to John (Jake) C. Swanson and Blanche (Mitzi) Swanson. He was the oldest of 4 children, Sister Debbie Burkett and Brothers Ronald and Richard. He attended Woodland Acres Elementary and Woodland Acres Jr. High School. John graduated from Galena Park High School in 1970. John joined the US Air Force in 1972 and serviced for 4 and half years and was Honorably Discharged in 1977. John worked for Armco Steel for 5 Years then became self employed as a Master Electrician for Greater Texas Electric from which he retired in 2018. John is a member of Lindale Park Mason Lodge 1347, Pasadena Mason Lodge 1155 where he served as Grand Master. He is a member of American Legion Post 658 Crosby Texas.
John was proceeded in death for his father Jake and mother Mitzi Swanson. John and Pat Rogers were married on June 30, 1972, Their family includes son Kevin William, daughter Kassandra Gwytha Patterson, her husband John Patterson, Grandson Seth, Granddaughter's Cheyenne and Savannah Patterson. Many nieces and nephews that he always enjoyed.
While in the Air Force they were stationed at Biloxi, Mississippi, Grand Forks, North Dakota, Madrid Spain and was discharge from Alamogordo New Mexico. This became the beginning of love of travel. After retiring they began traveling the world whether by cruise ship or flying, it was a dream come true. From Iceland to Australia and places in between it was a great adventure. Whether they traveled as just a couple or with family and friends that traveled with them, which always make it special, they had great adventures and made lots of wonderful memories.
John enjoyed riding his motorcycle with the Freemason Riders, American Legion ride and the special trips with Kevin and Seth and Cheyenne and Savannah, it always made him happy. Playing cards and visiting with friends and going out to eat always made him happy From his sometimes odd since of humor or just stirring to pot to get conversations going, he is going to be missed by his many friends and family.
