Together, we honor John Sykes memory and cherish the moments that were shared. John taught us the measure of success is not what you have in your life, but who you have in your life. John found his greatest joy in the happiness of those he loved and his greatest accomplishment in their success. He had the kind of humor that would light up the room and a smile for everyone he met. John will retire #27 but will not be forgotten.
John is a loving son to the late John G. Sykes and his late wife Dorothy Sykes, dear brother of Becky (Steve) Compton, Darryl (Debbie) Sykes, the late Ron Sykes, and the late Bonnie Thompson and late step sister Judy. Beloved father, of his two sons Travis Wayne Sykes and Tyler John Sykes and loving G-Pop to Emmett and Serenity Cruce-Sykes and his former wife Kimberly Krause. Also survived by sisters in laws, Alisha Sykes and Bonnie Sykes, and many nieces and nephews.
On Saturday, May 18, 2024, a Memorial gathering beginning at 9:30 am until the time of his Memorial Mass at 0:00 am at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 44633 Utica Road (south of M-59/Hall Road) Utica. John will be laid to rest at St. Lawrence Cemetery on Auburn Road in Shelby Township, Michigan; following his Memorial Mass. Please share a memory with his family at www.SullivanFuneralDirectors.com
