John Anthony Szczesniak, lovingly known as Dad, Grandpa, and "Slick," was a man who loved light-hearted mischief, pastries, and, above all, his family. John was born on January 11, 1944, to the late Stanley and Mary Szczesniak. He was the oldest brother to Stanley Szczesniak (Beth), who preceded him in death, and baby sister Roseanne Vondrasek (Joseph).

While attending Maple Heights High School, John met the love of his life, Jacqueline Szczesniak (née Lyson), and they married on October 10, 1964. John was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jackie Szczesniak. He is survived by his four sons: Tony Szczesniak (Charlotte), Brian Szczesniak (Gina), Raymond Szczesniak (Leah), and Michael Szczesniak (Natalie); his grandchildren: Ashley, Ryan, Gina, Rachel, Jonathan, Katlyn, Ryan, Austin, Lindsey, and Zachary; and ten great-grandchildren.

Throughout his life, John made friends who became like family, forming bonds that lasted a lifetime. He loved riding his Harley, his Corvette, and his zero-turn mower; enjoying Wendy's Frosties, camping, traveling, visiting the casino, eating 100 Grand ice cream bars, watching old westerns, and spending time with his large and loud Italian-Polish family.

Friends may call at the FERFOLIA FUNERAL HOME, 356 W. AURORA RD. (RT. 82), SAGAMORE HILLS, MONDAY, AUGUST 18, 2025, 10:30 AM, WHERE FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE CELEBRATED TO HONOR JOHN'S LIFE. Visitation on Sunday, August 17, 2025, from 2-6 PM. Interment All Saints Cemetery.
