John H. Taylor, 92, went home to be with the Lord on June 16, 2024.
Born in Pennsylvania in 1931, he was a longtime resident of Akron. John was a member of the Glazers Union and retired from PPG as a Superintendent after 30 years. He enjoyed westerns and playing the lottery, as well as hunting and fishing when he was younger.
John was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Grace Taylor; parents, Ray and Nina Taylor; and his siblings. He is survived by his sons, John Taylor, Clark (Katie) Taylor, Kent (Jackie) Taylor; grandchildren, Mary Jo Finch, Kent (Cressa) Taylor Jr., John Taylor, Kyle Taylor; many great grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister, Judy.
Family and friends will be received Sunday, June 23rd from 2 to 4 p.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Rd. Akron, OH 44314. Funeral service will be held Monday, June 24th at 11 a.m. with an hour of visitation beginning at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Hillside Memorial Park.
