John Walls

John Walls, 67, of Whitman, Massachusetts died at home surrounded by loved ones on June 26th following a long battle with cancer.
Originally from Newline Athenry, Co. Galway, Ireland. Born to his parents John and Therese, sibling to sisters Anne, Helen, Nora, Sara and brothers Mark, David, Neil and the late Connor. Survived by his loving wife Bernadette of 33 years and his two sons, Conor of Brighton, and Phillip of Hull, along with his wife Kailen.
Prior to moving to Boston, during his early years, John worked for his father's company, Corrib Oil. He later worked as a bartender at the ever-popular Dans Bar of Athenry, he then went on to obtain his own pub The Hop Inn. In 1992 John and Bernadette moved to Boston where he found employment at Home Depot and then, for the past 20 years, Lowes as a Pro Services Contractor.
John enjoyed cars, music, Reading, electronics and above all, watching European soccer, all hobbies that he passed on to both of his sons. Those who knew John knew him as a loving Husband, Father and Friend. Frequent storyteller, John was known for his wit and humor that brought smiles to the faces of everyone he knew.
The family would like to acknowledge the wonderful care given by the Greene Cancer Center in Brockton Massachusetts as well as the VNA.
Family and friends are invited to attend John's visiting hours on Saturday, July 12th from 1:00-3:00 PM with a funeral service to follow at 3:00 PM at the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that a donation be made to the American Cancer Society in Johns name.
