W. Thomas Doyle, age 85, passed away suddenly on Saturday August 30, 2025 at his home in Whitman MA. Thomas was born on April 15, 1940 in Brockton MA.

Thomas grew up and pretty much lived his entire life in Whitman, MA. He is one of three children in his family and was a 1958 graduate of then Whitman High School. He attended Bentley University where he earned a degree in Accounting.

Thomas was preceded in death by his high school sweetheart Mary Katherine Doyle (Stratton). They were married for 45 years. He is survived by his daughter Deborah Doyle and his son Lieutenant Colonel (Retired) Jeffrey Doyle. Thomas is also survived by his two sisters Barbera Cullen (Doyle) and Patricia Thorburn (Doyle) and three nieces and a nephew.

Tommy spent most of his life working as a Shoe Laster. A Shoe Laster makes the upper part of a shoe around a foot shaped mold, called a Last, to give a shoe its structure and comfortable form before it is fully assembled. He worked for the Jones and Vining Company as well as the Vulcan Corporation.

Thomas was a member of the Holy Ghost Church. He loved to coach basketball and play softball. He was a big collector of antiques and loved going to yard sales.

Thomas was known to be a true man and gentlemen. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.

Funeral visitation hours will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 9, 2025 at Blanchard's Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery in Whitman.
