John Walsh, age 63.
John Walsh was born on March 31, 1962, and passed away on January 16, 2026, at the age of 63. He grew up in the suburbs of Detroit, Michigan, and resided in his longtime home in Dearborn Heights until his passing.
In his early years, John was an accomplished football player and attended Wayne State University on a football scholarship. During his time at Wayne State, he formed lifelong friendships through his fraternity and created many cherished memories that remained close to his heart throughout his life.
John was well known for his exceptional storytelling ability, bringing every story to life with his animation, humor, and warmth. His generosity, love, and insight were gifts that allowed him to form meaningful friendships across the nation and maintain them for generations.
John is survived by his two brothers, Mike Walsh (Annette) and Mark Walsh, and his two sisters, Kathy Smith (James) and Susan Walsh, along with a multitude of beloved nieces and nephews. He greatly enjoyed poker, grilling delicious food, watching football, and enthusiastically cheering on his nieces and nephews in all their endeavors. Staying connected with childhood friends and fraternity brothers remained deeply important to him throughout his life.
John will be remembered by many as a gentle giant with a heart of gold, whose presence brought joy, laughter, and lasting friendship to all who knew him.
