Arthur Beck Obituary

BECK Dr. Arthur Beck, age 90, of Spring Meadows in Trumbull, died Friday, November 11, 2005, at Bridgeport Hospital. Dr. Beck was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., a son of the late Sidney and Jennie (Weiss) Beck and was the devoted husband of the late Ruth Beck. Dr. Beck is survived by his beloved sons, Dr. Lawrence Beck and his wife, Alice, of Easton, Dr. Michael Beck and his wife, Marcia, of Belle Harbor, N.Y.; his adored grandchildren, Sara, Andrew, Marissa and Morgen; and cherished brother of Mildred Jonas of Brooklyn, N.Y. Dr. Beck was a graduate of Columbia University in 1936 and the Medical College of Glasgow and Edinborough in 1940. He served in the U. S. Army as a Captain during World War II, as a troop ship physician until 1945, and practiced 37 years in Brooklyn, N.Y., until his retirement to Florida in 1984. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and patients. Services will take place on Sunday, November 13, 2005, 10:30 a.m. directly at Mt. Ararat Cemetery in Pinelawn, N.Y. Shiva will be observed at the home of Dr. Lawrence and Alice Beck on Sunday. Memorial contributions to Bridgeport Hospital Foundation, 267 Grant Street, Bridgeport, CT 06610. The Abraham L. Green and Son Funeral Home is in care of the arrangements.
