John Henry Weiler, 81 of Merritt Island, Florida, passed away September 3, 2025. John was born February 17, 1944, in New Orleans, Louisiana. Preceded in death by parents, Donald A. Weiler & Marjorie (Pons) Weiler; wife, Nancy (Bernard); and daughters, Kristina and Katherine Weiler. Survived by his wife, Barbara (Stutes) Weiler; daughter, Regina A. Weiler, stepchildren, Kirsten (Stutes) Sambor and husband Jack, Blaine Stutes and wife Jennifer, and Kenny Stutes; grandson, Chase Winebarger and wife Brittanie; four great-grandchildren, Emma & Callan (Cox) and Alexander & Augustus (Winebarger), brother, Robert F. Weiler and wife Marie, and many cousins, nephews and nieces. He will also be sorely missed by Phoenix (a feisty Weimaraner) and Ginger (a slow-moving Basset Hound).

John was a Patriot. He was an Eagle Scout and graduated from LSU in 1966 with a degree in Nuclear Engineering. His career spanned a broad range of accomplishments including his work on the NASA space shuttle program. He spent time in Egypt providing critical communication infrastructure, and some of his contributions included the development of military equipment responsible for saving lives. He was a member of the American Society for Nondestructive Testing, Health Physics Society, American Society of Mechanical Engineering, and American Welding Society. John's 'other' career was politics. He was involved in all liberty-minded issues and organized the Brevard Trump Headquarters in 2020 and 2024.

John enjoyed delicious dinners with a glass of wine at 'Chez Barbara', traveling the world, teaching and inspiring people, fishing both offshore and from his dock, and visiting his Louisiana roots often.

John's family will receive friends to share fond memories and stories on September 13, 2025, from 2:30 to 5:00 at the Veterans Memorial Center, 400 S. Sykes Creek Parkway, Merritt Island, Florida. On Saturday, September 20, 2025, there will be a visitation at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 402 South Kirkland Street, 70719 in Brusly, Louisiana, from 10:00 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am, celebrated by Rev. Jamin David. Burial of ashes will follow in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, please honor John's memory with a donation to the Brevard County Humane Society.
