John K. Welch, a devoted UPS manager and respected member of his community, passed away on March 3, 2025, in Huntington, New York, at the age of 61. Born on September 2, 1963, in the Brooklyn Borough, John led a life characterized by love, laughter, and creativity.
Throughout his career at UPS, John exemplified dedication and professionalism, earning the admiration of colleagues and friends alike. He was known not only for his work ethic but also for his engaging personality, marked by humor and a deep respect for others. His creative spirit was evident in his exceptional crafting abilities, using his hands to make beautiful and meaningful things that brought joy to those around him.
John held a deep love for his family. He is survived by his loving partner, Sheryl Klewicki, and his children: son Brennan, and daughters Sarah and Rachel. He was cherished as a son to the late Catherine and the late Edward, and was a beloved brother to Edward (Marge) Welch, Leslie (Joel) Freiman, Susan (Steve) Meyen, Jane Welch (Gene), and Gregory Welch. John also mourns the loss of his brothers, Robert and Glenn (Kathy), who preceded him in death. John is also survived by his many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his family and professional pursuits, John proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 1981 to 1986, embodying the commitment and honor that service entails.
As family and friends gather to celebrate his life, visitation services will be held at the Deer Park - Mangano Family Funeral Home on March 6, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM and again from 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM. A mass will take place at Saints Cyril & Methodius R.C. Church on March 7, 2025, at 10:15 AM, followed by a burial at Calverton National Cemetery at 12:00 PM.
John K. Welch leaves behind a legacy of love and craftsmanship, fondly remembered by all who crossed his path. His spirit will continue to guide and inspire those he loved, and he will be dearly missed.
