John Wiedman

John (Jack) Wiedman, 93, of Aurora, IL, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 28, 2025. John was born on May 28, 1931. He was a graduate of Dundee High School. John is preceded in death by his father, Fred Wiedman; mother, Emma Wiedman; son, Don Wiedman; brothers Dan and Jim Wiedman and wife of 62 years, Barbara Wiedman. John was a diesel mechanic for several years. He worked for Burlington trains as a brakeman before moving onto his job of 15 years at Caterpillar as an assembly line planner. He retired at the age of 55 and went to his dream job working on a steam engine in Chama, New Mexico. When he was done in New Mexico he became a snowbird and traveled with his wife, Barbara and cat, Foxy in their trailer to the western United States. They traveled to destinations such as Death Valley, California and many places in Arizona. They also spent time visiting lots of friends and relatives, having a grand time. John is survived by his daughter, Patricia Milroy (nee Wiedman); son Tom (Hendrika) Wiedman and grandchildren, Jonathan and Rachel Wiedman. Memorials can be made to Saint Paul Lutheran Church in Aurora. Family will be receiving guests on Thursday, March 6, 2025 from 3:00pm until 7:00pm at Dieterle Memorial Home, 1120 South Broadway, Montgomery, IL 60538. A funeral service will take place on Friday, March 7, 2025 at 11:30am at Saint Paul Lutheran Church, 85 South Constitution Drive, Aurora, IL 60506. Burial will immediately follow at Saint Paul Lutheran Cemetery, 1400 Douglas Road, Montgomery, IL 60538.
