John Robert "Bob" Wiggins

John Robert Wiggins, 85, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 in LaGrange, GA.
He was born November 3, 1940 in Newport News, VA to Elizabeth "Lib" and John L Wiggins. He graduated from Cary High School in Cary, NC in 1958. He then went to college at NC State University where he graduated in 1963 with a BS degree in Textile Chemistry, and later on, earned a Masters in Chemistry from East Carolina University. Shortly after, he joined the ROTC and went to Officer training school in Amarillo, TX and was later deployed by the United States Air Force to Okinawa, Japan where he worked as a 2nd Lieutenant in Logistics. He was promoted to the rank of Captain shortly thereafter. After he was honorably discharged, he moved back to the US where he raised three daughters. He settled in LaGrange, Georgia and opened his own chemical supply company where he worked his entire career. He remained in LaGrange until recently when he moved with his wife Cindy to Carrollton. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, loved to scuba dive, ran many marathons, loved woodworking, but his grandbabies were the light of his life.
He was predeceased by his parents, his brother, Allan Lee, and his step-daughter, Paula. He leaves behind his wife, Cindy, his daughters: Lisa (Gary) Hester, Terri (Ken) Moss, and Leigh Anne (Ronald) Jones, two stepsons: Kenneth (Michele) Elsberry and Jason (Katie) Elsberry, his grandchildren: Ashley, Meghan (Scott), Bethany (Graham), Brynne (Ryan), Josh (Alyssa), Anna Marie (Matthew), Quinn, Rhyan (Brad), Caleb, step-grandchildren Sara-Madison (Connor), Lilly, and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at Martin & Hightower Funeral Home in Carrollton, Georgia on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at 3 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honor to the Wounded Warrior Project.
