John Albert Wilson

John Albert Wilson, 67, of Louisville, KY passed away peacefully after a hard fought battle with pancreatic cancer. In his final moments, he was surrounded by his children and partner, who loved him so very much.
John graduated from Iroquois High School and went on to become an expert flooring technician. He loved spending time with family and friends and everyone knew if John was there, it would be a good time! He played in many bands and enjoyed music immensely. If you got to hear him play, you were lucky, as he played with his whole heart.
One of his biggest accomplishments was being a father. His children, Errol and Creagh, could always count on him to be their constant, their rock. He taught them many things, but the most powerful lesson of all, was unconditional love. He was a kind and loving partner to Patty, who he fell in love with late in his life, but whose love together with his was more powerful and beautiful than many lifetimes together.
He will most be missed for his big open heart, his goofy smile, simply, his presence in our lives.
John is survived by the love of his life, Patty Sharp-Carr; his son, Errol Wilson; his daughter, Creagh Boone (Anthony); seven grandchildren: Darren Wilson (Kimber), Carly Ritchie, Bryce Wilson, Dylan Ritchie, Mahalia Smith, Ember Boone, and Jacob Errol Ritchie; two great grandchildren: Melody Wilson and Maelynn Wilson; his sisters, Martha Vozos (Nick) and Roonie Bowling (Bo); he also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
John was preceded in death by his sweet parents, Jim (aka Pa) and Monnie (aka Ganner) Wilson; and his beloved brother, Robert Wilson.
Visitation will be held Thursday, September 29, 2022 from 3-8 p.m. and Friday, September 30, 2022 from 9-10 a.m. at Legacy Funeral Center-Nunnelley Chapel, 4327 Taylor Blvd. Funeral services will be held Friday at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
