John Wilson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lux Funeral Home - St. Louis on Dec. 27, 2025.
John D. Wilson, age 78, of St. Louis, went to celebrate Christmas with his Lord on December 24, 2025.
John was born May 24, 1947, in Lansing, MI, to Robert S. and Sophia G. Wilson. He graduated from Grand Ledge High School in 1965.
John was very proud of serving his country in the United States Air Force from 1966 to 1970 as a radar systems mechanic.
He married his wife of 50 years, Mary Mandeville, on May 9, 1975 in Lansing. His job as a manager for D and C Stores brought them to St. Louis in 1986, where they raised their son, Adam.
John found a second family and what he believed was his calling to serve others through the Boy Scouts of America. He was a leader for 20 years and made many lifelong friends through scouting.
He is survived by his wife, Mary; son Adam (Emily) of Louisville, KY; grandchildren Henry and Lucy Wilson; sister Janet Davis of Portland, MI; brothers Jeff (Deb) Wilson of Saginaw, MI, Robb Wilson of Glendale, CA; brothers-in-law Kevin (Sandy) Mandeville, Bob (Kim) Mandeville, Tim (Sheri) Mandeville, Chris (Paula) Mandeville; sister-in-law Jean Simon, Ann Mandeville, Janine Mandeville (Gil), Lisa Mandeville, Michele (Mark) Dukes; and many, many brothers and sisters in scouting.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at 11 am, at the St. Louis First United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 10 am until the time of services at the church. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the First United Methodist Church or Scouting America.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Lux Funeral Home, St. Louis.
