John Luther Wright

John "John Boy" Luther Wright, 62, retired owner and operator of Wright’s Plumbing, and former lifelong resident of Columbia, died Thursday, March 7, 2025 at Keestone of Lawrenceburg.

Graveside services will be conducted Monday, March 10, 2025 at 1:30 PM at Neapolis Cemetery with Ronnie Vann officiating. The family will visit with friends Monday, March 10, 2025 from 11:00 AM till 1:00 PM at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home.

Born January 18, 1963 in Columbia, TN, he was the son of the late Barney Jones Wright and the late Linda Ewing Wright. Mr. Wright was a graduate of Columbia Central High School. He got his start working with Ronnie Vann at Vann Plumbing, before going out on his own and establishing Wright’s Plumbing, where he served Columbia for over twenty years. Mr. Wright had a great sense of humor and was a very generous and giving individual. He was always willing to give a helping hand. Mr. Wright enjoyed visiting the Maury County Archives, and going country line dancing. Above all, he enjoyed having a good time being around his friends and family.

He is survived by his son, Jonathan Caleb Wright; sister, Wanda Wright; and brother, Pete Wright.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an aunt, Jane Nicholson.
