John Deitrich Wubbe Jr, 78, of Lakewood, died Sunday, September 21, 2025, at his home. John was born in Hackensack and raised in Park Ridge before moving to Brick in 1981. He spent the next 36 years in Toms River before retiring in Lakewood. John earned his bachelor's degree from Valparaiso University. For over 30 years he worked as a radiologic technician for Kimball Hospital in Lakewood, retiring in 2002. John was a painter, Giants fan and avid reader. He loved to travel by train and enjoyed going to state parks. He was so proud of the full-size train set that occupied the home's entire basement. He was a family man and loved spending time with his wife, Judy.

John is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, Judy Wubbe; his two sons and their families: Brian Wubbe, his wife Monica and son Christian; Christopher Wubbe, his fiancée Meredith, and their children Breleigh, Finley and Fallon; his brother Robert Wubbe and his wife Pat; niece Eileen Wubbe; and his stepsons James, Christopher, and Brian Algeo. Visitation is Friday 10am-12pm with a service at 11:30am at Oliverie Funeral Home, 2925 Ridgeway Rd, Manchester. Burial to follow at Ocean County Memorial Park, Toms River. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to The American Heart/Stroke Association, PO Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284 or the American Cancer Society, 2310 Rt 34, Suite 1D, Manasquan, NJ 08736.
