Austintown- Services celebrating the life of John E. Zubal Jr. will be held at 10 am Friday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church 4500 Norquest Blvd. Austintown, Ohio. John known as Jack was born January 6, 1945 in Youngstown the son of John E. and Catherine (Scanlon) Zubal Sr. and was a lifelong area resident. Jack graduated from Ursuline High School in 1962 and YSU in 1968 where he was a fraternity member of Theta Xi continued his brotherhood and friendships. He began a sales career spanning 40 years at Commercial Shearing, highlighted by sales of railroad spikes all over the country. He retired in 2005 from Pace Pontiac in Niles. After retirement he worked as an associate and mail courier for Lane Family Funeral Homes until October 2014. Jack was a member of Y.A.I.G. (Youngstown Area Intergroup), AA where he was proud of his Sobriety date of October 4, 1994. He was an avid golfer and loved the Cleveland Indians, Cleveland Browns and Beaumont Blue Streaks. He also enjoyed his visits to Intergroup, the barbershop and the Golden Dawn. He will be sadly missed by his wife Beth A. Bartlett, children; Danielle (Gary) Zubal Hilton, Chad (Theresa) Zubal, Sr. Erin E. Zubal (OSU), grandchildren; Raeghan, Connor, Alexa and his faithful canine companion Molly. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, brother Richard and Infant daughter Alicia. Family and friends may call from 4-7 pm Thursday at the Lane Family Funeral Home Austintown Chapel 5797 Mahoning Ave. Austintown. The Zubal family would like to thank, Hospice of the Valley, Hospice House Staff and team members and Austinwoods for the loving care given to Jack. The family also requests that memorial contributions be made to; Youngstown Area Intergroup, 3371 Canfield Rd. Youngstown 44511 or the Ursuline Sisters of Cleveland Ministry Fund, 2600 Pepper Pike Ohio 44124 in Jack's memory.

I'm a long time friend and fraternity brother of Jack. I golfed many times with him. On the golf course he would always say, " I can make a bogey from anywhere." His humor will be missed.
